The first Franco-Japanese workshop on massive optimization took place on July 12 and 13, 2018, at Shinshu University's engineering campus in Nagano (http://sites.google.com/view/cimo-workshop). The workshop was jointly organized by Hernán Aguirre and Kiyoshi Tanaka (Shinshu University, Japan), Bilel Derbel and Arnaud Liefooghe (UMR CNRS CRIStAL, Université de Lille, France), and Sébastien Verel (EA CNRS LISIC, Université du Littoral Côte d'Opale, France), with support from the French Embassy. This workshop is part of the official events celebrating the 160th anniversary of Franco-Japanese diplomatic relations.
