Can a computer make us enjoy music?

We often hear about artificial intelligence composing music. After the surprise, will we really enjoy listening to this type of music? Works in computer music progress towards automatic or semi-automatic composition, but also towards a better understanding of the musical language by algorithmic methods or from machine learning. We will present some research carried out in Amiens and Lille, whether on classical repertoires (fugues and sonata forms) as current (guitar tablatures).

Public lecture by Mathieu GIRAUD, Research Director at the CNRS, CRIStAL, Algomus.
