We invite you to submit your research papers to the special track “GIS-O” of META’12 dealing with a framework that integrates GIS and optimization tools, mainly metaheuristics. GIS-O offers a spatial and spatio-temporal environment toward a better decision making. Of particular interest are potential applications performing either GIS-O integration strategy as the full, the loose or the tight strategy. They can efficiently be handled by Spatial Decision Support Systems (SDSS) that operate while tracking the benefits of each component.

This special track gathers, but not limited to, the following topics:

- Integration strategies for GIS-O

- Routing problems within GIS-O

- Transportation problems applying GIS-O

- Case studies for integration strategies of GIS-O

Both theoretical and application papers will be considered.
