CONTRAERO is the fruit of a long-standing collaboration between four regional laboratories (DAAA/ELV, LAMIH, LML and IEMN), in the field of transport aerodynamics and associated control technologies. Created as part of the CISIT CPER project, the platform is continuing its activities as part of the ELSAT2020 CONTRATECH project (Ecomobility, Logistics, Safety and Adaptability in Transport for Horizon 2020).
CONTRAERO is an integrated platform, the only one of its kind in France, combining four wind tunnels and micro-technology resources. These resources and the skills of the participating laboratories are complementary and cover all the needs of aerodynamic control for transport, from the multi-physics development of micro-technology systems to flow physics: development and characterization of actuators and sensors, integration on models, modeling, wind tunnel testing, advanced metrology and flow analysis methodologies.
CONTRAERO is a key element in structuring and strengthening the regional dynamics of aerodynamics research. A strong collaboration is developing with Inria Lille - Nord Europe (UMR CNRS 9189 CRIStAL, "Non-A" project team).
