Abstract:
This talk is motivated by the parameter estimation problem in control theory. The so-called input-output (I/O) differential equations are a classical tool for estimating the parameters of a parametric differential systems, assuming some experimental data are available. We present a new simple system which admits an original integral I/O equation involving nested fractions and integral terms. This result is a contribution to the much more general problem: is it possible to develop a complete elimination theory using integral equations ?
