In mathematics, magmas are the simplest algebraic structures. However, studying the equations they verify is technically complex and mathematically rich. The equational theories project, launched by mathematician Terence Tao, relies on the collaborative work of hundreds of researchers and the use of digital tools to explore them systematically.
